Armstrong Ceiling Solutions Australia
Clean Room ceilings help control contamination and maintain performance standards in clean room applications.
Industries like healthcare, pharmaceuticals and food processing demand high levels of air cleanliness for airborne particulates as well as environmental control over atmospheric contamination, temperature, and humidity.
Contamination is managed in Clean Rooms by maintaining control over the environment. Washable, scrubbable, and soil resistant clean room ceiling tiles are engineered to achieve performance goals for a variety of industries and clean room assemblies. Our durable clean room ceilings also feature no sag performance and fire resistance with the accompanying suspension system for recommended clean room performance.
Based upon independent laboratory testing, Armstrong provides the following range of Clean Room compliant ceiling panels to be used with our Clean Room Grid system.
A clean room is a space or a series of spaces where the concentration of particles is controlled in order to minimise the introduction, generation and retention of particle.
Airborne particles, because of their small sizes, are measured in microns (0.001mm). A micron is very small… putting this in perspective, there are 1,000,000 microns in 1 metre. Clean rooms are typically concerned with particles of 0.5 microns to 100 microns.
The cleanliness level is controlled by laminar flow, constantly flowing the air along a parallel path, usually from the ceiling to the floor. The air is cleaned by passing it through high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters. In order to maintain the desired level of cleanliness, the room must be free of materials that will release particles. A positive pressure is always maintained in the higher class clean room; e.g., a Class 5 clean room will be maintained at a higher pressure than the Class 6 anteroom, which will be at a higher pressure than the outside hallway.
Some Armstrong ceilings such as Bioguard paint has enhanced resistance to disinfectants including Hydrogen Peroxide and Chlorine. Thus product can be used in areas with popular cleaning-disinfection operation.
